I am reading some of the old history mysteries. I have only read two so far and my favorite out of the two of them is The Night Flyers. I have read that and Secrets on 23rd Street. I liked that one too.

I would like to know your favorite one so that I can read it on vacation.

Thanks,
Katie

I loved the old history mysteries! I read a bunch, the first 13 or 15 or so, a while ago and I have 3 I think. I forgot what most were about though. I remember one about a whistler and another about a mail order bride I should probably re-read those actually...

I've read nearly all of the History Mysteries and have liked every one, the whole series is really good.

Circle of Fire stands out in my mind as being the scariest. Other ones I remember liking more are:

Gangsters at the Grand Atlantic
Under Copp's Hill
Enemy in the Fort
Whistler in the Dark
Hoofbeats of Danger
Watcher in the Woods
The Strange Case of Baby H
Riddle of the Prairie Bride

The two you read already (The Night Flyers and Secrets on 26th Street) were both written by Elizabeth McDavid Jones. She's written a few others in the series. Here are the other titles she wrote, incase you would like to read more by her:
Watcher in the Piney Woods
Mystery on Skull Island
Ghostlight on Graveyard Shoal

Hope that Helps!

Are they the mystery books for each character, or something totally different, & how come I don't remember them? When did they come out?

They aren't about the AG characters. I'm not sure when they were introduced, but it was a few years ago. The earliest book I have is #4 Voices at Whisper Bend and it has a copyright date of 1999. There are 22 total, I think. I made a list of the titles and authors, in order (even though the books aren't related to one another so it doesn't matter what order they are in), but am not positive it is complete.

Each book was about a different girl and was set in a different period in American History. And at the back of each book is a Looking Back section that tells about life at that time/ situation. The books were written for girls 10 and up.

Oh my. Was I in a cave or what? I so do not remember those. Maybe one day I can find them at the library, ebay, or borrow from someone.
Thanks for letting me know!

I now just remembered that I have also read Hoofbeats Of Danger. It was very, very good, also. I just got one from the library called Mystery At Chilkoot Pass. Is this one any good?
